Buy a 182 or do a 2litre conversion ??

I've never seen the point of converting to something that is available already. Unless someone has given you an engine for free, your engine has blown and you've nothing better to do over winter perhaps ?

Do something different like stick a DC2 lump in there .. or a V8 in the boot .. or an almighty RB26DETT :rasp:

its a fun idea but a bad idea in reality. will be a pig to sell on and is 2.5k that you can wave good bye to.

just buy a 182.

I'd do the conversion, it may not be the smartest idea financially but whenever has spending money on cars been smart lol.

You've got the car just how you want it but you just want more power, so conversion sounds like the best option imo. :)

ive had more than a few clio's since ive passed my test, ive carried out conversions on some, put 1.8 16v's in 1.2's, n put gt turbo's in mk1's as well. from driving a couple of 2001 1.2 16v's with uprated suspension for a few years as runarounds and then now buying my 182 its like stepping into a different car completely, world of difference. Everything just feels more solid and as its meant to be. Conversions are good fun, they will always cost more money than expected and with this you are still gona end up with a car that is already available to buy. my advice is to keep your own car as a runaround and buy a 172 or 182 and have fun!!! 1.2's hold there value really well now and your not gona loose much on it. Lovin your clio as it stands!
