Buying a 182 FF

  Ph2 172
Should hopefully have my Impreza sold in the next few days and I am looking something small and sporty yet fairly economical. A couple of friends have had or do have RS Clio's and have all pretty much told me the same thing but I'm just wondering if there's something in particular to look out for. I was looking at 172/182 Cups as well but the interior is horrendous.

Anything advice at all would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gary

Horrendous in what way?

Remember these cars are Renault, so don't expect anything mind blowing in the looks/feel department of the interior

Horrendous in the way that my girlfriend has a 1.5DCi and the interior is nicer, the seats are horrible for a car that is meant to be a hot hatch.

What about 182 FF with "Cup Packs." What does this mean? Does it mean that you can have a FF but with the wider track of the Cup and the spoiler?

a FF gets this spoiler:

a cup splitter:

(that is a replacment carbon fiber one on mine though)

And also benafits from "better suspension", darker wheels and michelin pilot exalto's as standard. The interior looks like this on my FF

half leather and alacantra with cruise control and climate control etc etc

BTW "FF" stand for cup packs

So it's either a
182
182 cup
of 182 cup packed (FF)

Thank goodness James, I thought I would've had a lot of haters disagreeing with me!

So apart from the belts needing changed is there anything else in particular I should be looking for that would affect the way the car drives etc?

I am a real noob to the world of Renaults so any afvice at all would be greatly appreciated.

The interior isnt the best it has to be said... but isnt too bad for what you pay these days...

ALSO... my mate has an Imprezza WRX and the interior is terrible :) but thats enough of that

Paul B> check the exhaust for what? out of interest

they tend to just ''fall off'' after around 30k. Check for wear and tear etc

When we were looking for ours, our main criteria was recent belt changes and exhaust condition. I agree about the cup interia, real off-putting I thought, but I love the alcantara interior. I'd say FF everytime if you're looking for something that feels a bit 'special'.

Thanks for all the advice folks, you have been a great help. My Impreza is now for sale in the cars for sale section if anyone is interested in a swap ;)
