Buying a 182 on 97k?

What's the thoughts on this?

Im going to look at one tomorrow night..Does the mileage really matter as long as its been looked after?

Looks good from pics but mileage putting me off a bit as my cup only had 60k on the click when i bought it.

I have three 172's.. Mileages 44,000...60,000 and 101,000! Although the high mileage car is essentially a spares car, it certainly goes as well as the others! It's been really reliable to date, engine is sweet - shame its coming off the road soon for spares. Mileage is not an issue if the car has proven history, been well maintained by knowledgable techs, and the all essential cambelt/alt kit/dephaser has been done correctly!!

If it were me I'd be double checking the gearbox... Mines on 98k and I had a replacement box 3k ago as the original was shagged unknowingly to me (only sign was 2nd gear crunch at high rpm), it can be very costly to repair or replace, far more so than belts, and my 182 had been lovingly maintained before I got it... As long as the gear shifts feel smooth, clutch feels good and the belt's have been done properly then it's happy days!

As above, on those miles its the gearbox what should be at the top of your list of worries tbh. Mine was whining at 82,000 and the car couldn't of been more looked after tbh.

  dan's cast offs.
Like triggers broom had 10 new bottom ends and 10 top ends

not long done suspension refresh but it wasn't actually that bad beforehand.

Might be a daft question but could I put a gearbox from a 172 cup in a 182?
