Buying a car from a dealer...far away!

  Mondeo STTDCI

Just been reading about the lads with a few problems with their 182s. If I was to buy one from a dealer a few miles away cos they offered me a better price, how would in lie if I had problems bad enough to warrant me rejecting the car?

A few of the peeps on here have spoken about spending endless days at dealerships after collecting their car. What would happen if I was to collect it and have problems and my dealer isnt exactly local? Could I take it to my local dealer?

Basically - its more than likely going to be a problem knowing Renault aint it?

I dont know if renault do it, but at my garage which is volkswagen, we pick up cars from customers up to 60 miles away, and drop it back off to them.

Dunno if they would do this but worth a try??

Or just move house:cry:

if it was for warranty work, then you should be able to take your car to any renault dealer, although if you had teething problems with it, youd definately be best to take it back to where you bought it.

Its nice having a dealer a couple of miles from home. Might as well buy from Motorpoint or another supermarket otherwise.

As for warranty work Id agree with everyone else, but Id suggest its highly unlikely and dealer would take back a "rejected" car if it wasnt them that originally sold it.

Also, just clicked over 10,500 miles on my Cup since December 2003 and the list of problems Ive had so far is as follows;

1. I cant stop driving it.

Thats it! Id say getting a dud isnt a foregone conclusion. You might get lucky like me...?
