buying a ph1 172 on wk end what should i look out for?

getting rid of the audi a3 1.8t and
going to look at and most prob buy a ph1 172 on wk end, do you think i will like it compared to the a3? it's 68k had cambelt and aux done recently fsh immac condition. anythin i should look out for?

The worst thing for me was the badly worn steering wheel, felt like rubber and hated it. Got mine re-trimmed and has made a huge difference to the interior.

shuoldnt have too many problems, as said expect worn wheel, door trims, depending on the colour the wheels may be pitted. Check that the cambelt has been changed also

wear did you get it retrimed mate, and how much did it cost u?

cambelt and exhaust are the main ones I can think of, if the wheel isnt worn, thats a bonus.

my 172 is on 120k miles and is for sale, the steering wheel is perfect condition lol u guys must grip it hardcore to mess it up :rasp:

cambelt changed too if ur interested, also new exhaust < 500 miles ago lol

Where did you get it trimmed up and is it the same colour as original?

I bought it off some geezer on here, looking back it was undecided whether it was a rsi wheel or a retrim however the stitching is a bit different to normal so id say retrim, no idea where it was done though sorry
