Buying an iPad in US

  Audi S1
Ok, done some digging. She is a student and she bought it from New Jersey.

In New Jersey she doesn't need to pay tax.

So how do you get away with not paying VAT on it when you get it here?
Hide it in the suitcase, nothing to declare?

See I was looking at getting a full system for my bike from the US, as prices are soooo much cheaper.
But their website says nothing about sales tax (California), and theres always a chance its going to get stopped in the UK and inspected, and charged 20% VAT on it.
Then after shipping and VAT theres only a small saving.

The only strange part would be her bringing 2 unused ones through customs, even I don't roll with 2 iPads ;)

I do get some funny looks when I pull out a work laptop, my air, my pad and my phone at security, 4 prong attack!
