Buzzing noise in my Clio 172

Can any 1 help me please? I have a load buzzing noise coming from the interior light of my Clio 172r. Its the sort of buzzing you would hear when walking past one of them little mini power banks that you find on estates. Its doing my head in now which is why its going to Renault next weekend.

But the car is out of warranty now and I was hoping some 1 might know exactly what it was so that I don’t have to pay 2 much for labour at the garage for them trying to find the problem.

Climate Control fan - I believe there is a small fan that the climate control uses, which is mounted somewhere in there

I have exactly the same problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jus found it this morn...Only when i turn the igniton on tho???

yea its the little fan for your air con,had mine done last year under warrenty

Its the bearings in the fan that cause the buzzing apparently.

I have the same, and took apart the fan unit, cleaned and dusted it all, and it still buzzes! I will try to get a new motor I think.

I've thought about getting a replacement for mine, but then there's no guarantee that that one won't buzz either! Apparently disconnecting it altogether is a big no no as well.

guess i'll answer my own question


had some time so i pulled down the plastic interior light area to get at the climate control fan, turned on the ignition and.................silence.

replaced all the trim and..................buzzy vibrating noise.




so i reckon the fan is just vibrating on the trim. annoying but nothing dangerous!
