Bye Bye Clio V6

  Clio RS 172 Ph2

I seriously doubt they will make a V6 mk3 Clio. Usually manufacturers make cars like the Clio V6, Escort Cosworth, Focus RS as a tool to generate interest, and traditionally due to the limited numbers built, and the massive development cost, they end up losing huge amounts of cash.

Only Subaru & Mitsubishi seem to have turned the exercise into a profit, but at the same time their cars have lost any idea of exclusivity.

I think the V6 mk1 & 2 have done the job in rasing the profile of the RenaulSport division, and theyll probably now leave a more mass-market 5 seater 2.0 200bhp model to do the job of being the flagship for the Clio mk3 range.

I doubt well see the likes of the Clio V6 again, and I would personally stake my entire posessions that the Micra V6 will never make it into production.

The new micra V6 is your clio V6, same platform. Maybe that was part of the deal to let nissan do the mid/rear hatch setup with the platform?

On the other hand do you ever believe renault when they say anything about "limitied run" or "there wont be another" ??

Ive heard there will be a V6 type car and Id say there was a 90% chance of it happening.

The V6 might have been a loos maker but what an imagine to brought to the car company the 6 mk2 was raved about my much of the motoring press helping improve the brand imagine. For the losses (if at all at £22k) were well worth it for uniqness it gave the company.

Micra V6 is a publicity stunt
Theyll never make it.
which is a shame actually, as the photos Ive seen, it looks rather good
(unlike the hideous bog-standard Micra!)

Here is the 2 ltr 200bhp one, is the 3.5 ltr V6 the same?

Yes its the same car. They have only ever built one car and have now changed the front bumper on it for the 2006 version and replaced the previous 2.0 ex-BTCC engine with the 3.5 V6 from the 350Z.

tell me about it. more old people own micras around here and do 5mph everywhere so will be even worse if they bring out a V6 version for the old people to potter around in arghhhhhhhhhhh old people in powerfull cars is a bad idea
