C172 in this month’s CAR

its in their top 100 cars u must drive (number 72 i think). They say it has lightening fast steering (no it hasnt) and that it has concrete springs (no it hasnt).

Do you mean Clio 172 or Cup 172?

Clio 172 is what they refer to; flame red 172 is pictured, too. Couldnt see the CUP.

Well to be fair the standard 172 steering definitely cant be described as "lightening fast"! Lowered it is a different story, but I guess their talking about standard.

not at all Zed - im very happy with the way it drives, but I have some doubts over the steering. At low speed, its a bit too slow-witted, not quite as nip and tuck as it should be, IMHO.

Well get a smaller clio with the electric assisted power steering. Its hard to get a good compromise for fast road/track driving with supermini style town driving.

i wasnt bitchin Rob, honest - I think i can live with the steering given the power it has. Although i do drive like a daft old bint so maybe a smaller cc one would have made more sense
