Cable From Laptop To Telly ????

HI there was wondering if its possible to bring my laptop up on my 40 inch telly so i can watch moves direct from computer to telly can anyone help me and tell me what i need , cost of these products etc

best connection id dvi to hdmi if your laptop has a dvi output if not vga to vga if your tv has a vga connector if not just give up
