CAF routing...

  Clio 182
Hey all,

Just bought meself the Espace V6 airbox, along with a new CAF...

I've done a search and the 182FF is a right pain to route the CAF, due to the a/c and fuel rail!?!

Is the easiest option, just to rip out all the existing system, plus the air acoustic valve and fix the CAF down onto the horn bracket...!?! Or is the ducting too chunky moneky to fit down into the arch way...

I have seen the set up from MarkCup, is there a way us FF owners can get the feed to sit tucked behind the grill, next to the nearside headlamp...!?! Sorry for the stupid question, i actually haven't looked yet for room or what's there lol  :S

Oh bytway, gunna try and get this done moro (day off woo), so any helps would be mucho appreciated! If not, i'll wing it and try and find room lol :D

Cheers!!

I answered my own question, after a lot of swearing and raped hands managed to squeeze the CAF down to where the OEM intake sits! Trying to get it past the leveller was fun lol, had to squish the ducting to make it fit lol!

Acoustic valve is now gone too!

If anyone wants to see the airbox, head over to Media as they're in there!!

I had that kind of CAF material on the old Viper kit. Lasted about a year before it started to rust the inner wire and cut the material to shreads.

Far better off with flexi ducting from Homebase. Cheaper too ;)

Cheers though Andy for the heads up!

wouldnt it be easier to have placed the ducting behind the top grill, but remove the fuel rail guard so you have more room.

Dunno if it was/is a good thing to keep it, but i'm no mechanic, just handy with a spanner hehe! And, personally, anything with the word fuel in it i'm leaving well alone lol, just incase i fuber anythinks up! Ha!!

Should do the job where i've located it, as it's where Reno designed it to go!! Just Lee bought up a point which popped in my swede too, where i've squished the CAF to fit, should this affect the air flow at all...!?! Though, the surface area hasn't changed, it's just the shape that has, so the volume of air should still be the same...correcto...!?!

at a guess i'd say its restricted it somewhat. i.e you'd get more water going through a big hole, as opposed to a long thin slot with the same capacity?
