If I go to the expense of fitting that to my car now, I wouldn't want to have to rip it out later for something else because it's not up to spec.

WHy not look at a proper CUp racer then ideal as its ready prepaired.
Yep I agree Britcar would take them I think etc. Loads of small series to use them in.True...you can get one for about £10k now, even less. The problem is that they are quite different from standard, so eligibilty is an issue. I guess whoever is selling the car would know what series's it can go in though.
A proper race spec 172 Cup wouldn't be road usable either suspension and camber etc would be to extreme.because he probably has to use his car everyday,and a cup racer would hardly be practical for the road,then you need car and trailer and there high maintenence

You can make the racer road legal if you want but gaain a proper efficient racer wouldn't be driven on the road or it looses it track potential.
a roll cage hardly makes it race speck
