Anytime after 4yrs or 40k realistically, as they have been know to go around then and people on here have had it happen!

Usually 5yr 72k

£430 from GDi in cambridge. Includes full cambelt kit/ tensioners etc.

£400 is a reasonable guide price though, think Renault dealers are around 700 mark:eek:

Get aux belt done at same time, will only cost you about £50 extra if that. Plus if you dont do it, and the aux belt goes, it could knacker your nice new cambelt...not to mention the rest of the engine!

£350 is more likely to be CUP only. [Less time involved]

FF has the aircon to be negotiated.:(

I am looking at a 53 plate clio with around 45k on the clock.
realistically the big service will need to be done next year, and this is the one thing concerning me.

shall i buy a 02 plate that has already had it done? and save some cash as the car wil be cheaper?

Better off buying an '03 plate which has had the major 60k service and belts done IMO. Only six months older than the one you're looking at.

Just so happens mine is up for sale;) And its got 4 brand new tyres on, another £300 saved.

Open to offers.

im confused now. :S
the servicing guide on here says that the A,B + C service is at 72K or 6 years

in this thread and others i have read that it should be done at 5 years or 60k?????

can some clear this up, or shall i just stick with the guide?

On the receipts I have from Renault there is a note at the top saying:

CAMBELTS NEED CHANGING BETWEEN 50,000 to 72,000 MILES or at 5 YEARS.

Better to be safe than sorry. If you think, pah 72k and 5yr, and your cambelt snaps at 51k and 4yrs you'd be gutted, and probably end up with a bill for £1k worth of engine repairs.

Like i said earlier, its happened. I played it safe with mine at 54k and 4yr. At least I can drive round with a bit of confidence that the jobs been done and I've got a years warranty on the parts fitted.
