Cam belt service

How much should i look to pay for this. Im not going to renault for it, as the cup is out of warranty.

Obviously while its having the cam belt done, i want a full service done on it too. What sort of money am i looking at here?

Also, how can i tell if the accesories belt has been changed? My car was a fleet car for Bank of Scotland, and they failed to get the book stamped when they had the services done, so i am writing off to them to ask where they had it done, so i can get the history of it.

But being a big firm like that, i would assume that they serviced the car when it needed it, at a renault dealer, and also had the belt done at 36k miles.

Just wondered if there was anyway i can tell?

The previous owner of my Mk1 had the timing belt done along with a major service the day before I bought it. This is the work that was carried out according to the receipt:

Full Service as per service book inc semi-synthetic oil
Brake fluid change & bleed
Replace Timing Belt & Pulleys with genuine Renault kit
Replace accessory belt

Total cost? £575.03 inc VAT, and that's at an independant garage rather than a Renault Dealer

Im in Norwich, and i believe GDI are cambridge?? I dont mind travelling a few miles to get the best price, plus i'd like someone who knows what they are doing to sort it for me, lol.

First of all, even if the car was under warranty, it doesnt need to go to a renault dealer for work/service.

Change the aux belt when the cambelt is done, kill two birds with one stone. On the 172's, if the aux belt snaps, theres a chance it'll take the cambelt off the pulley. Its also virtually no more work to get this done aswell with a cambelt change.

Coolio, thanks for that Friction. i thinks its safest to get the aux belt done at the same time as i dont know if its been done or not.

I have PM'd Andy GDI, just waiting for him to get back to me now.
