just bought a 172 sport pickin it up on saturday just wondering how many miles till cam belt change

Every 36,000 miles mate, as for price it vary's per dealer or specialist, around the £250-£300 mark

36K is the AUX belt change

72K or 5yrs is the cambelt, BUT be warned many have failed way before this, i' suggest 65K or 4.5yrs to be safe

my bros a mechanic so hes doin the work all on saturday when i pick it up so just the aux belt mite be best gettin the cam belt at the same time

its got 43k on the clock what do you guys rekon?

Just paid £361 for my belt's etc to be changed. While doing it they found the water pump leaking so bill ended up at £530

Personly i would get it changed.

Changing it at that milage is bloody daft IMO.

I wouldn't blink before 60k personally, just chuck it in with the 60k service.

Got mine changed at 48k (car was five years old), the belt was still in good condition, but it's best not to risk it.

Got mine done for £250, Renault wanted £420, jokers.

330 at harrets renault wakefield for cam belt kit and fitting, mines on 51k so gona get it done at the end of the year
