Cam Followers...

Got a very noise idle on tickover when warm, only occurs on idle (800 rpm) its ok at anything over 1100 rpm, smooth when driven etc and doesnt miss or splutter.

Garage seem to think its the cam followers worn away and need to replaced, anyone heard of this or had a similiar issue ?

exactly same as what i had.. sounded like a tractor for a good 18 months!... performance and everything was spot on! just noisey but got very slightly worse as time went on... good luck diagnosing the problem mate! ... it could a few main things and each "thing" costs hundreds to see whether it is or not.... you wont want to know what i did, but you will ask, i sorted mine by a replacement engine.... sorry

The good news is its under warranty! :rasp:
But i would like my 172 back sometime before Xmas.....Its only on tick over when warm that its noisy.
