Cam Lube

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
As above, I just oil liberally on assembly these days unless its something mega expensive where I want belt and braces, the lube isnt really required TBH in my experience.

Important to run cams in properly though.

millers competition assembly lube if you MUST, or just engine oil

Couple of these should do the trick?

Your cams aren't new though. Or are you getting new lifters?

I don't know weather to change them or not Tom.

There was i thinking my head was mint only to find out that it needs 16 valve guides. :dapprove:

Ill give Adam a call and get a price.

I've always wondered what metallurgy process can possibly happen with "running in cams" 2000rpm for 15min will do diddly squat to them, as will 50k miles (with decent oil changed regularly!)

Its essentially to finish off the polishing of the lobes mate (and to match their wear pattern up with the lifters specifically), you can see a visible change in the shine of them after they have been run in IME :)

polishing on roller rockers though?

Yeah I get what you are saying there in the context of an F4R, Im sure that makes it far less critical, must confess I still always observe a run in anyway though on new cams. But I am sure its far less crucial than on other engines like a williams etc due to the roller rockers.
