Cam Timing step by step?

Hi guys, a friend of mine is doing some work on a 172 and has the cam timing tool but wants to be 100% sure he is setting the cam timing up correctly. Does any kind person happen to have a step by step guide which they could post here/pm so i can pass it on?

Any help would be great cheers

The manual is pretty detailed, do you not have that?

He doesn't have it no. I'm not involved its just a mate of mine who knew i was on here and asked me to ask. Is it a renault manual Ben?
If so I might see if I can get hold of one
