Hiya just bought an 04 Clio Sport 182, its making the rattling noise! We think its possibly the dephaser. Which we know requires cambelt removal to be repaired. Is there anyone near West Yorkshire (South Kirkby, WF9) that is able to sort this problem??? Or possibly able to come to me? Also what sort of price am i looking at?

Thanks

Basically, yorkshire = mega money for specialist work.

Diamond motors is your best bet imo, bit of a trek but worth it.

Before you do any of that, just make sure it's not your alternator bracket that's rattling,
it's a brace bar that secures it to the block.

I was about to rush a belt change and put myself in the poor house because I thought the rattle was terminal,
turns out it was the bracket that was loose, check the cheap fix before you shell out hundreds on a belt service.

Not that a full belt service isn't essential, because it is on these engines,
it's just worth checking the simple things first.

other halfs checked alternator bracket and it isn't that :( unfortunately... where can i find this diamond motors you mentioned??

That means nothing to me lol, female and remembering junctions :/. What sort of price roughly am i looking at for such job as above?

Belts and dephaser is £560

Genuine belt kits, new pulley, new fixings, x4 camshaft oil seals, genuine oil filter, oil change with ELF SXR 5w/40, service book stamped and 12 months parts and labour warranty.
