Cambelt pricing at Renault Bolton

Well after reading a few of the horror stories about cambelts snapping before they where due, it got me thinking about changing mine early.

So I rang renault bolton up today for some prices on parts and labour.

You all better be sitting down for this (more the labour prices):

Parts Costs (for 2003 Renault Clio 172 FF):

1. Cambelt Kit - £154.00 inc vat (part no. 7701476675)
2. Aux Belt - £19.99 inc vat (part no. 8200226493)
3. Water Pump - £69.99 inc vat (part no. 7701473365)
(you don't really need to change the water pump, but I thought if this goes it will be another expensive job to do, plus they will have all the belts off, so it might as well be replaced for piece of mind)

Labour Costs:

1. With Water Pump Labour - £544.49 inc vat plus parts above.
2. Without Water Pump Labour - £489.49 inc vat plus parts above.

I really wanted to take to renault, just because if anything goes wrong they will have to sort it out, however after finding out these prices I will have to find renault specialist, because I refuse to pay these prices.

Mine was changed at a dealer, thankfully i didnt pay the bill! lol

Just had the cambelt and aux belt changed on my 172 cup at Brecon Renault, all in for £423

Cant argue with that, thats as cheap if not cheaper than some specialists?

luckily my mate will do it on the side - hes a reno tech. so hopefully 250 quid all in

Defo had the cambelt changed mate, excellent service there too, i know its a long drive for some people but they are first class, my local stealership wanted £590 for the cambelt to be changed!

Rang Brecon Renault and they quoted me £423 parts and labour, they even use my local dealership for their parts ordering but are so much cheaper on labour costs!

It was a garage in Blackburn, but it was done as a cheapy as he is a mate, the book time is about 5 hours or so

Get down to RS tuning in Leeds they do a good price and I'm told do a good job too
