Cambelt Query

Hey guys,
Wondering if you wouldnt mind helpin me with something. My girlfriends parents have a Laguna 3.0 V6. Renault in W.Wales quoted 1k for the timing belt to be replaced. Is this a bit much? Are these engines hard to work on?(to all you V6 clio owners)lol. Cos im thinkin that is a bit expensive for a timing belt change, but i dont know much.lol. Although Renault said they would need to remove the engine :S

I have the kit to do this job, in fact I got a Laguna V6 to chamge the belt on in the next week or so.
The belt from Renault is 315+vat
And book time is around 5.5 hours

Its not engine out on the laguna's.
