Cambelt

  F56 MINI Cooper S
Hi

I will be looking to buy a mk2 ph2 clio in the next couple of weeks, if i was to see one with 60-70k on the clock , would it need a cambelt change and big service done, if not, how many miles until it needs changing? I dont want to be forking out for it straight away. :)

Thanks

5 years or 72,000 miles whichever is soonest...

Also if the car is nearly 10 years old it should be requiring (or had) the second timing belt done regardless of mileage.

welcome btw

Do you know a rough price on the timing belt being changed mate? (just incase it is almost 10yrs old) It would be on the 1.2

what is the difference between the timing belt and cambelt. I know the cambelt is a big job as my dads impreza is due for a 50k service which includes cambelt.

oh ok, so its 72k then, is this for all clios or jst 172 182 etc?

all clio the 62k /5 years whatvers soomner is for normal driven cars I'd never leave more than 4 years or 60k.

for certain driving condition renauly state it should be chnaged at 54k.
