cambelts last 72k

just wondering whats different about the cambelt in the 172, why does everyone change them at 30k ish when book says 72k?

Its time dependant as well as miliage, rubber perishes over time.

doesnt matter as would have both done at the same time

lol, have you seen my thread?

We failed to find any renault documentaion that says other than 5 years 36k, it's just a cs myth.

we prefer to do it at 50-60k or 5 yrs... mainly because we have seen so many fail, or more to the point the tensioners or idlers fail.
