Cams on a 182

I am looking to start modding my 182 soon, I already have a BMC cda and I would like to upgrade the cams on it. Will I be able to run the car for say a few months with the new cams, whilst I get some other mods done and then go for the remap at a later date?

Thanks

No.

Cams alone would not be a good idea, you need to modify the fueling.

apparently this is wrong

I used to think this but 2 seperate Renault tuners (very respected on here) told me a while back that the car will quite happily run on the standard cars ecu, its not essential to get it mapped as soon as.

They certainly wouldnt be worth changing if they still worked with the stock ecu.

(unless you change the exhaust cam alone)

They will work though just AFR isn't ideal and engine isn't adjusted for them ECU wise stock ECU is fine its the mapping.

Stand alone ECU is needed for some cams.
