Cams

  Nissan 370Z
Right,
Well i was interested in the JMS manifold which looks a lovely bit of kit, its just out of my price range.

Now im interested in buying some cams(second hand) but have no intention of putting TB's on, i have the 98 ron performance remap by henk but wondered what cams will be fine so run with that remap?

I have a mate of mine who owns a garage who will fit my cams for me,

So just wondered what my options are?

Thanks

You need mild cams but you'll never get the best/most out of any set without a remap to suit.

CatCams seem popular on here and C&B seem to be growing.
I went for Schrick which are reputably one of the best, but not the cheapest.

Thanks DA.
I was reading about some that will be ok on the normal ecu, and with the rs tuner remap i thought i may be ok till i can afford a live map.

Whats the fitting time rougly on fitting cams?

Generally two hours labour, but the Cam belt has to come off so alot of people put a new belt on just to be on the safe side.

Well i only changed my cambelt like 2weeks ago!
Is there much difference between 421 and 428 cams?
So realistically i could buy cams for say £400ish second hand, and get them fitted by a mate for cheapish and im good to go...but a proper remap would be better!

421 and 428 refer to the profile of the cams. The more wild they are, the less likely that the car will idle without a custom remap.
