Can 360 See Network Attached storage?

If I buy a NAS (Western Digital My Book Life edition) and i connected to my router, will my xbox have the ability to see it? or will I have to share the drives through windows on my laptop then have the scenario where I am seeing my data via -

NAS > ROUTER > LAPTOP >ROUTER > XBOX

Any advise appreciated.

I would say share it via the laptop unless you plug it straight into the USB on the front of the 360.

As long as its FAT32 you can plug it in the xbox USB port.

If its network and USB though you can only use one at a time though. I have this problem too. My Xbox will see my HDD on the network but won't take any info off of it. I have looked to deep into it though!

Hmmm, I want to use my xbox as a media centre but keep all my data on a nas, rather than having to turn on my laptop each time. Plus it would be more direct. It must be possible some how.
