Can Alpiine HU work with cd changer?

Thinking of getting a new headunit. Maybe one that can connect direct to the ipod.

With an aftermarket unit can you still use the cd player and steering controls?

it will work with the control, just needs an adapter but wont have any luck with the cd changer because the connectors are completely different.

nope. the cd changer is only compatible with standard renault cd players

Ok guys, cheers. What do you think then? Will the sound be much better with an after market H/U like the one above? I know its not going to be as good as if you use a amp, but on my last car I changed it and it made a fair old difference.

Can I get this adapter from halfords?

I doubt I will be using the cd changer much so just trying to see if I need it.
