Can anyone diagnose this problem

Basically about 5 months ago i noticed this grinding sound i think coming from my clutch when i drive about 40+ and take my foot off the throttle its a quite loud grinding sound very noticeable from inside of the car. Anyway i remember spinning out one day in the wet weather hit the curb knocked my tracking well out and but the sound stopped and hasn't been back since. Anyway today its come back again and its very irritating because its hard to explain and its a horrible noise, and the sound doesn't even go when i press down on the clutch. Its a 52 plate clio and when the noise started it was on 67k miles and now its on 73k i think. It's not always constant thats the strange thing, sometimes the sound appears constant, sometimes the sound only comes when i'm not on the gas, sometimes you can't even hear it at all!
