can anyone please help me my gearbox has gone on my 172

My gearbox has gone on my 172 its a 2000 model ph2 i have been told it has speedo drive on it is the correct??

If so im unsure on the codes does anyone know the correct code??

I have seen a couple in ebay a jc5130 and a jc5129 will either theese work??

Please can someone assist i have a week to find and fit the box ???

yes, you need a box with speedo sensor (jc5-129 or jc5-089). What is wrong with the box? Maybe it is better to get it rebuilt.

im unsure as im not a mechanic but when i was driving there was a rubbing noise coming from the underneath of the car and it was pulling to the right when i stoped i could see fluid all over the floor a beileve it was transmission fluid maybe wrong tho had somebody have a quick look and they said put a new box in it i know the linkage is very loose aswell have you heard of anything like this before ???

gthe only issue i have with a rebuild is i only have access to use a rampo for a day as i cant afford to put it in the garage at the moment my girlfriends brother is a mechanic and he will remove and fit the new one in a day and save me a olt of cash

Would recommend a rebuild mate, can you not do it on your drive?
