Can auto wipers be switched off?

I have a FF182 but because of the roll cage i no longer have the moisture sensor on the windscreen, i now have a windscreen from a 182 cup because i cracked the old one but thats not important

Because the moisture sensor is gone the wipers dont move on the first setting. So today i swapped the stalk with one from a 182 cup thinking that would give me intermittent wipers on the first setting but it doesnt,

same as before, off, no movement, on all the time, double speed on all the time


is there anyway to turn auto wipers off, remove the setting etc because i want intermittent!! maybe in CLip?

ignition on one click (or 2, cant remember)
then switch the lights on, off, on, off.
that turns auto lights off

Wrong !!

Look at what in your manual ? The first postion down ( position 2 ) on the stalk is for the auto wipers , the next 2 positions down are for increasing the speed of the wipers and obviously with the stalk back up to the top they are off . So the only way to have the auto wipers off is to miss out position 2 .
