can i fit 1.4 rt dials in my 1.2 rl

hi ppl, i have thought about it for a while now, and not seing a RPM guage on my dash dosent seem right!

so i was just wondering is it possible to put the 1.4rt dial pods into my 1.2? and if i can, how easy is it 2 fit and install?

no prob not original RT layout, but you can get a seperate rev pod and wire that up to the a pillar.

um yes but surely it wouldnt do anything cos theres no tacho on the rl/rns is there?

yeah when you buy the guage it comes with all the wiring you need to set it up

Apparently though you need a sender installed, as your car wont have one.


Think the dials cost him £25 from scrappy, and the sender £75 or something.

Thanks Ben! Almost right.

Dials were £25.. then I had to have the Rev Counter converted to electronic so it worked with my direct ignition module.. this cost £75.. it then conects up to the ignition module!

Mine is a 1997 Clio tho.. which used the new DIET engine and had a fully electronic ignition, coilpack etc.. as for 1991 - 1996 RLs I dunno if its a straight swap or not - It definetly wasnt on mine.

What I did was, tried it.. it didnt work (oil level didnt work either, and still doesnt).. so I went from there!
