I'm sure ive seen this problem on here before, only noticed the other yesterday but does anyone know what it is, spring or shock?, thanks a lot. This has no affect on steering and no strange noises.

No quite sure what you're asking there - are you wondering what component might be worn/broken?

You're showing us pics of the top mounts, is your steering straight in those pics? It looks like you've got full lock on, so its not really that clear if there's any difference side to side, but if you're just asking if they are supposed to move or be solid, then the answer is that they are supposed to move a bit and change angle with steering lock applied. The pic looks normal to me (assuming they are on full lock).

Ok this hasn't been resolved, still the same when wheels are straight

Could it be my top mounts that have gone

Well if that's the case then it suggests that something is worn or incorrectly fitted. Pics with it stright might help show if a problem exists on just one side, or both, or neither.

Spring or shocks themeselves won't affect how the parts (pictured) are located, its the components that form the top mounting, so yes. You might have to take it appart to find the issue.

Is it still the same when your wheels are straight as in:

1) It's raised

2) It's raised but uneven like in the photos

?

If 1, then that's normal.

When straight, they are raised and level, but raised by about 0.5 mm. I've just never noticed it before and it doesn't look right
