Can these centre air vents be replaced?

So when I bought the car, noticed the right centre air vent appears to be broken in some way.

None of the slats are snapped, but they don’t appear to be connected to the slider part as can evidently be seen.

Is there a way of replacing these? Is it a dash top off job?

I don’t mind taking top dash off. But I did read one post saying they are part of the whole lower dash, is that true? I won’t bother if that’s the case, which is really annoying as it winds me up looking at it!

Suggestions greatly appreciated.

I took my dash off a while ago to change the bulbs. This is what it looks like. Sure someone will be along to answer for definite, but they look like they could be changed on their own.
