Insurance rang her and said its going to cost over £3000 to fix so its a total loss, we will get back to you with an offer for the car

2 days later they ring again and now say they are going to do another inspection so it's not certain now that they will write it off


WTF, can they do that?

I mean she made lots of plans to then not get a car and to get insured on her boyfriends car to use that till the end of the year, what if she'd gone and got a new car or something

If you look on autotrader 1.4 pug 206's are going for less than 3k so i'd say she'll get paid out . Don't know why they would change their minds and want a second inspection , i guess its probably when they are paying out they want to be 100% certain .
