Got a couple of very soft scratches on my headlamp, being xenons it kind of shows them up (in my mind), just wondered if it was possible to buff these out with the right tool?
Auto Glym polish might not be abraisive enough it the scratches/swirls are quite deep, but tbh, it was no different than using the rotary on the paintwork.
As above they are plastic, can be corrected even by hand.
Machine will make easy work of it either with a plastic polish (Meguiars and S100 both make some) or just some normal car polish, I use Menzerna by machine. Speak to Newms he will sort it for you.
Menzerna Intensive Polish or Final Finish and a light cut or polishing pad.
we save a lot of headlamps in our bodyshop with polishing.
if the buff doesnt do it to start with, a light wet flatten can help and will polish up no problem.
ive seen lights fixed with a sander and 400 grit pad!then polish up brand new.
