Can you drive with no dials/clocks?

  ?
As above, thinking of doing an led conversion now.

Problem is I may need to drive somewhere half-way through. Can you drive without any clocks/dials in? lol

Lol why not go the whole hog and blindfold yourself? :rasp:

Seriously, I don't know the law in this area but I'd be very surprised if you were allowed to do this - you can't monitor your speed for one thing!

Sat nav with speed display, job done

The police hate that speed display on sat navs and will still ticket you for speeding - happened to my dad's work mate when he told them that's what he was using - they said the GPS speed indicator wasn't relative as it has a natural time lapse!

And they tend to only measure horizontal speed, so if you're going up/downhill it will be off. Time lapse would be less than half a second, no?

Lol time lapse!

Nevermind - Seems like more hassle then its worth. I was thinking more mechanically would the car start/run etc. But forgot totally about having no indicator of speed lol.

Why not just clip it back together and use it? Pop a screw in to stop it falling out, go where you want to go, as soon as your back just unscrew, unplug, unclip and you're back to where you started!

tbh, if your that worried, why not just put the clocks in place, and not wire them up,

how will the police know if they work or not after theyve pulled you over, and you have taken the keys out the car??

personally id just use a satnav and risk it, do 25 if you wna be cautious, and if you get pulled, neglect to mention that your clocks dont work. its hardly like theyre going to ask.

Its totally fine tbh, speedometers are not actually part of the MOT so you could pass one with out a speedo, you only need the dash for warning lights.

Don't be a pansy!
