Can you fit a 17" tyre into the boot well?

Car  Clio DCi 65
As per title,

Could i get a 17" fitted into the bootwell of my Dci?

Can't be bothered taking my wheel off to try!!

not sure, depends on the tyre profile, and how wide your wheel is the 15in is the exact depth but there is still a good inch around the wheel, so id say 16 possibly but 17s no.

If you've only got four, why would it matter?

Got a flat tyre the other day in it and was luckily close to home where could swap wheel.

Don't fancy being stuck somewhere with no spare, AA won't put my 15" spare onto the car either.

205/45R16 has a radius of 11.63 inches

205/40/R16 has a radius of 11.72 inches

Feck all in it.

I'm going to try find one on ebay/free-ads...

Parents will be buying one just incase i break down somewhere!

Ony thing I'd say is it may not let the boot floor sit flat.

It took me a whoile to figure out that my boot floor wasn't flat because my 172 wheel width was more than the depth of the wheel well.

Boot is never used for anything apart from taking a bag or 2 somewhere.

You'll be alright then as long as the wheel fits.

195/45/16 = 58.19cm diameter

205/40/17 = 59.58cm diameter

Less than 1.5cm difference compared to a 172 wheel so I'd assume it'd be all fine. There are a few ridges in the bottom sides of the wheel well I think but doubt they'd cause trouble.
