can you over paint hammerite on calipers?

was thinking of changing the colour of mine, but can you overpaint hammerite smooth red with something else or will it not 'stick' to this paint?? whats the best method?

I don't an issue with it sticking, seeing as you probably did more than one coat of the red and the additional coats would have bonded to the first one.

so it should just be a case of giving a good clean down, then painting over yes?
