Can you respray fog light reflectors?

My front fogs on my Wiliams are falling apart. I've been looking for some replacements for a few months, but haven't found any yet.

I've started to think repairing them might be a better option. I've seen a few chrome spray paints about, does anyone know if they'll work on fog light reflectors?

Also, the seal around the glass has fallen to pieces, is there a decent way to reseal it?

The short answer is no.

Quite a few people have tried over the years & pretty much failed for various different reasons.
I vaguely remember that somebody managed to find a company that could do it properly (some kind of dipping/plating process) but it was something ridiculous like £300-400 per light to have it done so they never went through with it.

Nobody being able to figure out a way of doing it good enough is one of the reasons why good used ones are so expensive & the occasional unicorn of new old stock popping up for sale are even more expensive

Dry ice blast them and chrome wrap inside? They might not output a lot of light but they will look the part. Maybe.

Dry ice blasting sounds like all sorts of fun. Not sure it's a viable option for me though.

I'll carry on the hunt for replacements I think.

There’s a few lads I’ve seen on classic car pages 3D print replacement parts that are unobtainable and have them coated. Process is called vacuum metalising. No idea how much it costs but one of them has a link to this on his page and a google brings up loads of options

Yeah I think so, if I can't find any in the next few months I'll call a few local places about rechroming.

Clean up, rust converter and chrome spray or even silver paint will make a massive difference to current fogs until you find a solution.

Failing that put some cibie covers over the top

Tin foil. But don’t use that cheap and thin stuff.

Could even use silver heat reflective self adhesive tape, if you can get it on decent.
