cannon pictures CR2 FILE HELP

orite everyone, just need some help because took some pics at uni other day and my computer wont open the files. i have got photoshop but it wont open the cr2 file. is there any free programmes that will display my images? cheers ben

adobe camera raw, download the current driver.
I assume that is a raw file?......never used canon

Yeah it's a raw file, just download the RAW update for photoshop.

i only have photoshop 7 can you install it for that

you should be able to get a plug in for it.

I have CS3 and mine opens them anyway, failing that a converter may help.

Adobe camera raw is on version 5.5 now I think. If you are going to work with raw files, either Canons own DPP or Adobe lightroom makes processing quick and painless. Get lightroom anyway TBH, it is awesome.
