Did you keep the springs compressed when you put the strut/spring back on?

Yeah, the compressers are off now, so the shock and spring are in one peice together, same as how i did it last time, but i cant get it to line up

I had the same trouble when taking my coilovers off to be fixed and putting back on standard shocks with springs, rammed it in in the end though!

I normally stick a long screwdriver in the holes of the strut to try and line them up with the steering knuckle. Sometimes it is a bit of a fiddle, but you will get there in the end.

My driveshaft came out but seemed happy enough when I pushed it back in :)

Same here my driveshaft came out when i was refitting my front shocks with the sportlines on them.

I pushed it back in and no adverse affects so far (thats a week or so downline :)

It is a complete pain to get lined up, i'll agree with that.

But just take it easy mate and keep at it with patience and you'll get it done ;)

My first time I made the stupid mistake of only jacking up one wise so had to the anti roll bar owning me!! bmh.01 posted up and helped me out at the time though! ;)

When I refitted my standard suspension to my 1.6 when I sold it the springs had expanded due to them being complete uncompressed for 9 months or so. I had to get a bar on the arb with the mrs standing on it to lower the hub so I could use a screwdriver and the ball joint to move the hub around and get the holes to line up.
