cant get yoko AD 08 (new ones out in august)

  GSXR + KDX220
Have you tried EARS? Its a company, not a body part....they had them in stock a month or so ago. Good price too!

Toyo R1R's are of very similar price, performance and construction IMO, I've had both.

  WRX
+1 for R1Rs.
Haven't tried on track yet but more than happy with road performance in dry and very wet.

R1R's are decent in the wet, on dry roads however I don't rate them 2 highly as I find they move around 2 much with the large tread blocks, also got feathering on them in the warm when out for a spirited drive

being with the RAC(from ATS),I can get ps3s buy one get 2nd half price.(only on the tyre)
so its 120 +60 x 2 .all together £360 plus fitting.(some on here say they are a bit soft and makes the car feel spongy.)

so if I can get that deal they will be my 2nd choose.

  Renault Clio 197 Cup
What about some Federal 595 RSR's? Cracking tyre according to the people ive spoke to who use them

I just want a set that will be very ggod in the dry and ok in the wet.

I have mismatch cheap tyres on it (/alpha /federal/clear/federal).(on when I got the car)
maybe 2 are federal 595 ,have to check.

I have never driven a clio with good tyres so any ones will be a massive improvement.
I changed springs/damper/top mounts/steering rack/track rod ends so far,
so I guess the tyres are the last thing.(just ordered polyflex dogbone bushes).

They will make a BIG difference to the car if its got cheap crappy tyres on!! Either of the 3 mentioned would be a big improvement over what you have ;)

just checked I have 595s on the left hand side of the car and a alpha/clear on the right hand side.
so I guess ill be fine on a oval left handed track:lolup:

The old owner of mine said that nankangs are decent, if a bit soft. anyone else rate them other than b3n?

Did he mean the semi slick road going ones though or the normal road tyres? The semi slicks are only new out over here.

Lal b3n has your place got these nankangs on the site now??

How are you finding them?

Nope lol. We can sell you them though if you wanted a set.

I'm loving them, done nearly 6k on them now. Great in dry/wet. Even cope very well with standing water. I won't hesitate to buy them again.

ill call that jjcraceandrally tomorrow, they are just road tyres ad08 ,I called yokohama they said don't make them any more,
in august they are bringing out the ad08 r.
I don't no much about road tyres, I have heard good things about the ad08 for dry and wet roads.
so I thought I would buy them, k tec was doing a great deal 4 for £408,
but they only have 2 and cant get anymore.
its funny cause I have made my tyre money by studying f1 and their new tyres.:)

Ideas on price per corner? 205 x 45 x 16" if you do them?

  172 Cup
I bought two AD08s off Ears last week, ordered thursday, delivered friday.
195/45s were impossible to find so I got 205/45/16s for the 172 Cup. I think it's only 9mm difference on total diameter so better than fitting 195/50s like the non-cups have.

Now worried I won't get to put the same on the other axle when my bank balance catches up :S
I imagine it's just a teeny compound change though. Bit daft to dry up the market during the switchover though, aren't they like.. losing business?

eta: apparantley the new compound takes 2 seconds off a lap of Tsukuba :p

Oh they are worth it. Drive steady until you've done a couple of runs on them though, my first drive out was in the rain which was interesting, but now they have bedded in i can't fault them. Glad you managed to find a set.

just had them fitted, and the wheel alignment checked.

driving home (5 miles slowish) I checked the front tyres and they were really hot,
reminds me of my tyres I had on my gsxr 750.
they are a heavy tyre ,look well made, look great on.
the car feels tighter, sure it goes faster:lolup:from a standing start
