i drive a 1.2 8v clio mk2 ph1, im looking to uprate my battery and im wondering what is the most powerful i can go to with a standard altenator? reason i want a new battery is because mine keeps dying on my and i wanna change the battery to see if that helps and then if it doesnt then its a new altenator. current battery is 45A, what is the biggest i can get?

ive just fitted a yellow top optima in my 1.6 and it is well nice. stopped my lights from dimming on bass notes.

the only problem is the cables coming from the under bonnet fuse box are a little too short

its only 55Ah aswell

i take it ur origional is on 063 battery

plonk in an 065 which shud be the next one up for ur rang (172 battery)

Me and fred chucked one in and its "uprated enough" cost about £29 iirc

The 172 and 1,2 have the same 75A alternator so go for a 172 one as has said if you have some heavy ice then get a DCI one

if it will fit in the tray get a heavy duty 065 battery
