Car Covers

  ITB BG 182
Right my car is now off road till November... shitter i know, what would be the best or most suitable car cover for the clio then, nothing silly prices please people.

A halfrauds tyvek one would be ok. They are about £60 but they do have them on offer sometimes. I had one for my last car, never had a problem.

A lot on here don't rate the covers due to moisture etc though. I now have a breathable one but it was silly expensive (came with it though)

Them trevek things at halfords are £79.99 near me... sod paying that much for a cover, went to argos and got a dual layer one for 35 quid, fits nicely aswell.

If your storing a car outside long term a cheap cover will be worse than no cover ...

ventilated ones are better but v expensive.

seen a few that form an airtight seal, kinda like a tent round the car as well

Cheap ones let the water in / or as above cant breath to deal with moisture build up and it then gets stuck in there and stays on the paint and never dries.

Well ive paid for this one from argos at 35 quid and ive also got an fabric layer aswell under neath that which also cost me 15 quid an its a top to bottom cover on the 35 one.

Using it for more than a few days at a time outside, you will need to remove it and dry the car.

I wouldnt just leave it on even if it was a £100 cover. ill be taking it off at least every 3 days or when the weather is hot so the covers can dry off an so i can start the car up as its not going to be run now till november :dapprove:

The Tyvek ones are quite good.

Altho i never had mine on longer then 4 weeks at a time.

It never kept any water under it, that particular one has a "breather layer" and worked pretty well. Only problem i had was the one i got was very snug lol... didnt cover up the back properly so got dirty by the back wheels.

Other then that top :D

I knwo someone who had a cheap halfords car cover and they suffered with really bad water patches under it which left a damp smell really badly when you took the cover off.

Bringing this back from the past.
HAS what size did you go for and do you reckon it would fit a MK2 V6?

Cheers

I will double check what size i purchased (its in the garage somewhere)

iirc it was the one made for a small car. but again will check for you.

It should *just* about fit a vee. mine is a bit short up the back, so maybe you would want the next size up. width wise, you have plenty of room...to fit that large body kit of yours ;)
