Car died and wont start

Looking for advice please, What would a solid immobiliser light mean in a 172cup? My car died on me on Friday night as I was driving and will not start, It wont even turn over unless I turn the key fast but never starts and only spins for a few seconds. Any ideas??

bad earth- buy a new earth strap, attach.

the earth strap looks fine and was only off the car about 3 weeks ago when I had a clutch change done, but ill give it a go
anymore ideas guys struggling to get this sorted.
i had it put on a computer and its come back say decoder ring, ive read that they dont break very often, is it worth change it or just searching for a bad earth?

Start with the easiest things first. I would double check all earth points

where are all the earthing points? I've checked the earth strap and the ones going behind the passenger headlight, ive checked all the fuses and relays in the engine bay fusebox and all the fuses in the dash and cleaned them all and swapped the little black relays around to see if one isn't working but nothing made any difference.

Update, not that anybody cares, but it might help someone if they have a similar problem.
I checked all fuses and relays under the bonnet and everything had a good clean, changed the decoder ring thingy around the key but none of this worked. So i went hunting for a broken earth, checking all earths I could find, two behind the passenger headlight, the strap between the gearbox and the chassis but couldn't find anything wrong until I removed the wheel and arch liner to check the earth coming out the loom and going to the back off the gearbox and hey pressto i found this!

Fixed it back to the gearbox and it started first time

At risk of sounding like a moron, how did you connect it? and to where?

It goes onto the gearbox above the diff on the line where the gearbox casing splits, it’s a 13mm head bolt
