Car hard to start when warm!

Hi

I drove to asda today to get some cash. After getting what I needed I tried to start the car and found that it would nearly fire up but not enough to get it going (apart from it turning over) I have found if you hold the key for around 20/30 secs it will start no bother! I tried this again to find the same thing happened!

Whats the problem?

I found I get poor starting more when I fill with petrol. I drive my car to the station, fill up, pay, go to start. Fails to start first time, VERY embarassing! But I've also found it doesn't do it if I turn the key to on for a few seconds, then start it up. (I guess that's what you meant too)

i thought it was the starter motor getting too hot on a energetic run?

My clio does this sometimes?

I had this on a golf gti.. was due to a leaky injector that was dribbling.
