Car is started..but doesnt move :( HELP!

basically i think the gear box has gone...

took the car out yday morning and it was fine..till i put it in 4th and it didnt move..put it in 2nd..same..so i pulled over..put it in first...high revs

pic below shows car started..no one in the car and its in reverse!

Help!

If a cv joint snaps then the car wouldnt move either so worth checking them mate

would say diff cup has popped out or as above reply - possible driveshaft failure!!!

I'd use the AA Renault Assistance card, get it taken to dealer and get them to sort it under warranty!

well its booked in for monday to go to reno! AA said it could be somethin to do with inside gearbox

did u hear any bad noises just b4 it went mate? the gearbox on my old calibra V6 basically went bang (bits of cogs were falling out when we got the 'box off!), so i hope it aint that.

^^ no noise! when i put it into gear nothing happened!

May not seem right as you have been able to put the car into gear, but It may be the clutch, That is what mine did last year, not sure on mine if it was clutch release bearing, or just plates??

thinkin bout this Immi, my mates saxo done this, linkage had fell apart or somat, took him five mins to fix on his drive apparently. does the gear stick feel really loose?

thats what we think it is..gear stick is fine, goes into each gear perfect..clutch is fine too..!
