Car locked

I disconnected the negative on the battery to do some audio work, just to be on the safe side as my little bro was helping. re-connected the battery and now the ignition is locked, can get the key in just wont turnover, wont even move when the key is in the ignition

the alarm is working and the CD player works.


Anyone have a idea why?

When you turn it so that all the interior lights are on the dash( the last setting before actually turning the car over) , does the red light on the dash go out after a couple of seconds when you do this?

it doesnt even move that far they key just goes in and wont move one notch

Steering locked, moved the steering wheel when you put the key in and the key should then be able to go round to switch the ignition on etc.
