Car makin a slight whine on startup when cold...

noticed this since last weekend down the coast... whenn its really cold when i start it theres a slight screechy whine for a second or two...

any ideas?

Starter Motor.

If its just after you start the car..... Its like a funny whining noise.

Its the mechanism dis-engaging.

Mine had this problem......got quite bad so replacing it today funny enough.

Mine makes it regardless now as its got quite bad.

But yes, it does get worse with colder weather.

mine makes a loud clicking noise when starting it, but it still starts just as fast and as normal, any idea if its a similar problem? it only does it sometimes and i cant work out when! usually after its been started a couple of times
