car running rubbish?

my 172 has always ran rubbish when cold, it splutters and kangeroo's and occasionaly backfires until its upto it usual running temp, just wondering if its the same for everyone and if theres a cure.

oh and its a 02 plate 172 with 73k on the clock.

ive heard that giving the crank sensor a clean helps a little so im gona give mine a clean tomorrow at work to see if it makes any difference. if it does then ill let you know mate.

hi mate i gave it a clean today at dinner and it did make a difference to be honest. was a lot smoother and less hesitant to go. 1*2`s are famous for not letting you floor it from cold but as said it was smoother so its worth doing any way.
if you dont know where it is then its under your air box. right on top of the gear box. its held on by two 10mm bolts. it is a bit of a crappy posision but mine wernt to tight so that helped. you will need the tools to get your air box out the way and a 10mm socket on an extention with a ratchet to make life abit easyer for you.
